Make your own coffee ice cubes. Adding a coffee cube or two to your coffee can perk it up a bit. Coffee cubes are also used in iced coffee to make and /or to give an extra kick.
You will need:
1 ice tray - if you use a plastic ice tray you wont want to use it for regular ice after using for coffee cubes, it will give your ice a funny taste.
Coffee - cooled, a mild or medium roast works best. Dark roast are good for some drinks but you have to be careful not to take away from the flavor of your drink rather than complementing your drink. Espresso shots are good too. One shot per cube.
Fill ice tray with cooled coffee and place in your freezer
Tips:
Try adding cream to the coffee before freezing.
Keep stuff from falling into your coffee cubes- place unfrozen ice tray into a zip lock bag and then freeze.
